Donovan Whycliffe Bromwell a regular face on the streets of Nottingham the guy who sang for a quid in the city centre living in sheltered housing. Born into a family of Twelve, back in the nineties, however, he was an upcoming soul singer signing a record deal to MCA, selling out the Hammersmith Odeon, supporting the Godfather of Soul James Brown and dating Aussie babe Dannii Minogue. He was tipped to become the next Prince. Not many, however get as close to the big time as Whycliffe did, only to see it all crumble in front of him. Success never materialised. Frustration & disappointment exacerbated mental health issues. Wycliffe was dropped by MCA losing all of his belongings, including his home. His close relationship broke-down with his partner and family, who tried hard to keep him going. Drug and alcohol addiction led to homelessness Whycliffe found himself begging on the streets of Nottingham. For decades he was lost & forgotten.
Until last year. His music was reignited by a new online audience. A local record label became interested found him and began helping him, encouraging him to once more believe in himself. New songs have been written and recorded, live performances are happening and with his voice growing stronger he hopes to once again perform to an audience who never forgot what he meant to them all those years ago.
